Hot tub breaks in the UK: what to know

A hot tub break can mean very different things. At a cabin, cottage or glamping pod, the tub is usually on your own deck and nobody else uses it. At a hotel it’s more often in the spa or leisure centre, shared with other guests, unless you book a suite with a jacuzzi in the room. That difference is why every stay here is stamped private or shared.

Of the 38 hot tub stays we’ve checked, 20 have a tub that’s yours alone, and 12 of those suit a break for two. Cornwall and Essex have the most choice. 19 stays take dogs, and there are hot tubs with a sauna, wood-fired tubs and big houses for groups.

How we check a tub

Every listing links to the page that shows its tub: the hotel’s own room page, the owner’s listing or a booking listing. We name the room to book and the date we last checked. If a hotel’s only jacuzzi is in its leisure centre, we say so.
